Gosh! Witch Doktor is the classic house track that broke Armand Van Helden into the dance charts. Witch Doktor was released in 94 which became a big hit which later led him to remix some of the worlds biggest acts including one of my favorite remixes ever of Professional Widow by Tori Amos which you can find here on Destroy Rock And Roll blog. Well I’m glad that it’s finally been remixed and updated for folks to enjoy today. It’s remixed by Eddie Thoneick and it’s got a very upbeat electro house feel to it with a very energetic groove. Get on the dancefloor and groove to the beats like it’s 1994.

Although this remix to a classic Armand Van Helden track is not as great as Funk Phenomena remixed by Starkillers it’s still highly recommended for anyone into Armand Van Helden’s music or any dance music enthusiasts. Check them both out below. The 1994 version and the 2009 version.

Duck Sauce Sample Gotta Go Home by Boney M. On Barbra Streisand

Ok did a post about this track Barbara Streisand by Duck Sauce a couple of weeks back and I figured it’s worth posting again. This song that Duck Sauce sample is an old disco Euro Disco classic from the late 70s. The band it’s sampled from is Boney M one of my favorite disco acts that Frank Farian produced. This remake and the original are awesome.

Just discovered this really cool track from Duck Sauce and I’m loving it. It’s got a really fun beat and it’s great to dance to. It kind of takes me back to the big beat Fatboy Slim sound back in the late 90s. It’s quite groovy. Duck Sauce is A-Trak and Armand Van Helden and I have to say they are great combination. Check it out below is the O-God Remix and it rocks!

Armand Van Heldens classic house hit has been given the updated remix treatment and it’s awesome. It’s been perfectly remixed by Starkillers and this thing rocks. Great electro breakdowns and and euphoric beats makes for an excellent track to get down to at the club or speed up in your car cruising the streets. Love it. Armand Van Helden is in top form here and he’s really back now, like it was in 96/97 when he did the countless awesome remixes for Tori Amos, New Order, Jimmy Somerville, Apollo 440, CJ Bolland, Sash!, Snap, Nuyorican Soul and more and more and more. This remix though is quite the hottest thing I’ve heard for a long ass time when it comes to remixes. It’s got loads of energy and I love Pharrell’s vocals on here in combination with Uffie’s. The original by hottie Uffie is your typical electro hip hop rap/vocal pop cut but this remix delivers 1000%. Right on Armand! Original version from Uffie’s Sex Dreams And Denim Jeans CD that’s just come out.

This remix was all over the place when it came out in 1996. Gosh Armand Van Helden was in top remix form. Around this time he did some excellent remixes for Jimmy Somerville, Nu Yorican Soul, New Order, Daft Punk and Sneaker Pimps. But this Tori Amos remix was what really put Armand Van Helden on the map. It’s quite awesome and it’s the kind of remix that I really, really love. Listen to the original track and the remix and you’ll notice what I’m talking about.

They are both very different and I really love the Armand Van Helden remix. Don’t you? This is what I really mean about Destroy Rock And Roll! An artist taking a track/song and totally changing it and making it completely different. Love it! More of it please.
