Gosh? Whatever happened to Jody Watley? Well she’s still around and she’s done this awesome remake of the Chic disco classic. I think this is quite the remake – it’s excellent. It’s so good that it’s been on repeat for a while now. I’ve read that Nile Rodgers is actually done the guitar on this Jody Watley version of the Chich masterpiece from the 70s. The Jody Watley single contains so many remixes but my favorite is the Danny Krivit Original Re-Edit as it’s perfect to chill to it. It’s very similar to the Chic classic – it’s a laidback midtempo track. Here’s a list of the versions available from the Jody Watley release.
One listen to both versions and you’ll notice that it’s very similar except for the production sounds more current and the vocals are of course Jody Watley versus the Chic girls. The original comes off of the album C’est Chic.
