  1. Star 69 (Thomas Gold Remix) by Fatboy Slim

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

New remixes of old dance and electronic tracks are my cup of tea! And when I heard about this new remix of Star 69 by Fatboy Slim I was first in line to check it out and I have to say it’s pretty darn good. Love the long breakdowns and big ass beats withe the lyrics that we have come to love from the original Star 69 track! What The Fuck! This new remix came out last year for the 10th anniversary of the original release of Star 69 and was originally on the Fatboy Slim album Halfway Between The Gutter And The Stars. Timo Maas had had remixed Star 69 in 2000 as part of the single along with DJ Gotfather and X-Press 2 and I think this new Thomas Gold Remix is just as good if not better. The Timo Maas remix still hold up today and is worth checking out. This new remix is certainly in the style of what’s being played in the clubs today and it’s a fusion of house and electro beats. I

I’m sure this one of those cuts that is definitely one that is definitely on heavy rotation. More updated Fatboy Slim remixes please?

  2. Tubular Bells/Pretty Boys And Pretty Girls (Regan’s House Medley) by Book Of Love

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

14+ Minutes of electronic synth dance pop pleasure! This Book Of Love classic takes on their own cover of the Mike Oldfield classic Tubular Bells and mashes it with their own song Pretty Boys And Pretty Girls into an 80s classic underground synth dance bomb. Boy this version is so good! Boy not their hit Boy even though that is a classic as Book Of Love were one of the most underrated acts in the late 80s. I heard their music on Live 105 numerous times and that is how I discovered this excellent New York act. They were signed to Sire records along with Depeche Mode of course and Erasure, Madonna and The Ramones and more!

Tubular Bells and Pretty Boys and Pretty Girls is off of Book Of Love’s excellent 1988 album Lullaby and it was such a great idea to mash up the two tracks together for this excellent 12″ version. This version just goes on and on going in and out of each of the two songs with added horror sounding special effects to remind you of where the original Mike Oldfield version came from the film The Exorcist.

If you don’t know anything about Book Of Love you’ve probably heard of their music in a film or two. One of their songs Modigliani (Lost In Your Eyes) was featured in the film and soundtrack to Planes, Trains And Automobiles. Later Sunny Day was featured in The Silence Of The Lambs. Unfortunately though Book Of Love did not last too long. In the early 90s they released two no very successful albums Candy Carol and LoveBubble then they vanished into thin air until their greatest hits were released in 2001 with a collection of new remixes of their first hit song, Boy! 5 years later Boy was remixed again by DJ Irene for the Future Retro compilation of excellent remixes of 80s hits!. It’s rare but I prefer the original when it comes to Boy but the remixes are certainly fun to hear.

  3. North Shore (Idjut Boys Mix) by Cantoma

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

If you are at all into beautiful, sexy downtempo and chill out music then Cantoma is your cup of tea. I first got into Cantoma‘s music when I heard his track Moonsmith off of the Cantoma self titled album way back 6 or so years ago and immediately fell in love. I’m sure if at all you like Thievery Corporation then you will certainly like Cantoma’s music. Finally Out Of Town came out last year and it was basically more of the sexy downtempo music with a elements of world beats thrown in for good taste that I had come to know from Cantoma. It’s just good music that you can put on and chill to in the background. Read a book, sip a glass of wine? Tasty!

North Shore is one of the cooler cuts off of Out Of Town and I was happy to have discovered this Idjut Boys remix of it. The Idjut Boys elevate the song by increasing the BPMs a bit and giving it a somewhat discoish vibe to it that I’m digging! The vocals are still there but it’s been given also the dreaminess quality has been elevated a bit. It’s nice and I hope you enjoy it!

  4. CFCF Covers Ryuichi Sakamoto With Forbidden Colours

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Forbidden Colours is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever recorded. It was originally released back in 1983 and was a collaboration between Ryuichi Sakamoto and David Sylvian (from the band Japan) which was also part of the soundtrack to the film Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence starring David Bowie.

So CFCF has taken that most beautiful classical and electronic new age recording by Ryuichi Sakamoto and David Sylvian and elevated it for todays ears and it works darn good. I love it. CFCF aka Mike Silver actually even sings on this recording which still makes it even better. It’s a very soft spoken quiet kind of speaking that even sounds like the original. Check out both the original and the remake below.

I’ve been digging CFCF for quite sometime now. I was first introduced to his sound with some remixes he did for Sallly Shapiro later found his albums and fell in love with Big Love the Fleetwood Mac cover (which is awesome) and later I came across this recording which I love. I

I can’t wait to hear more from CFCF and I can only hope that he’s working on some more excellent cuts like what he’s released so far!

  5. Way Back Home (Club Version Featuring Duane Harden) by Bag Raiders

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

I first heard the Bag Raiders Way Back Home track just a couple of weeks ago but it wasn’t the original version sung by the band members that I heard it was the club version with Duane Harden. I immediately fell in love with it and had to check out more versions. I had known about Bag Raiders but after I heard Way Back Home I came to love Bag Raiders more. The original version of Way Back Home is very reminiscent of gothic sounding synth pop from the 80s it totally reminds of a song from that era. The Duane Harden version is upbeat, bouncy and reminds of piano house from the mid 90s! It’s awesome!

Those of you that don’t know Duane Harden well if you know this little song that dates back to 1998 called U Don’t Know Me by Armand Van Helden featuring Duane Harden then you’ll know Duane Harden. He’s done countless other songs since then, mostly house, deep house and soulful house but this collaboration with Bag Raiders is one of the most unique things he’s done to date in my opinion. I love it!

And the track listing for the Bag Raiders self titled album is as follows. Loads of tasty new wavy synth pop and dance treats that are seriouisly worth owning if you are at all into bands like Empire Of The Sun or Cut Copy and the like then you will certainly love these songs. Preview each track below and make sure you check out Shooting Stars as it’s one of my faves next to Way Back Home! There are some really cool remixes of Shooting Stars that should be noted as well.

    1. “Castles in the Air”
    2. “Sunlight”
    3. “Shooting Stars”
    4. “So Demanding”
    5. “Gone Away”
    6. “Prelude”
    7. “Not Over”
    8. “Snake Charmer”

  6. Moodswings Covers Donna Summer Covers Jon & Vangelis With State Of Independence

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Boy! It was only after 15 years or so that I discovered that State Of Independence was originally remade by Donna Summer in 1982 a year after Jon & Vangelis released it off of their The Friends Of Mr. Cairo album from 1981. I have to say that the first time I heard State of Independence was the Moodswings version featuring the great Chrissie Hynde from The Pretenders on vocals. But I do have to say the version Donna Summer recorded a year after the Jon & Vangelis version are so similar. Very kind of minimal with a very mellow bounce beat added in with the vocals. Kind of doesn’t go anywhere for me and I’m glad it was remade and covered in the 90s. Check them both out below.

Once you get to the Moodswings cover and the Murk remix of State Of Independence from 1996 then you get to some more excitement. The Moodswings trip hop version of State Of Independence has that euphoric, dream like quality with excellent haunting vocals from Chrissie Hynde then you get a total 360 degree turn around for the Donna Summer Murk Remix of State Of Independence. There are many more remixes on the single for Donna Summers State of Independence from 1996 but the Murk Remix is the best. A tad bit outdated today but still fun to check out.

  7. Hot Room (Tiga Remix) by Linda Lamb

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

This is quite the interesting electro track for me. It kind of sounds like this long lost country song or an Asian singer singing a country song with an electronic production. It’s unique in a strange way and I didn’t really get it or let alone like it until I heard of the excellent Tiga remix. This song was released in 2002 from the oh so cool label International Deejay Gigolo’s along with their legendary complilations, International Deejay Gigolos Compilation 5 and it’s countless cool electroclash tracks. I like the Tiga remix because he basically amps up the electronic production to a nice midtempo beat. It’s something you can actually dance to now whereas the original was a bit odd. Whatcha think? The original version of Hot Room came out at the height of the electroclash movement which is now almost 10 years old. Boy time sure flys by!

If you’re not familiar with Linda Lamb check out some of her work with one of my favorite acts, Vitalic on a track called Bells. This is the Linda Lamb I really love. Right? It’s darn rocking cool!

  8. Wherever We Are (Grum Remix) by Human Life

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

I’ve been listening to a lot of 80s inspired or influenced electronic, pop, dance, synth influenced music lately and Human Life’s Wherever We Are are one of the acts that I’ve been listening to quite a bit. This feel good, happy song from the Los Angeles based act Human Life is just that and more especially if you check out all of the fun remixes of this hit song Wherever We Are. The band takes their influences heavily from catchy 80s music of the synth pop bands that were aplenty then. They then throw in stabs of early chicago house music and an added French electro inspired sound to create their own original sunshiney very LA feel to the music. I’m digging this and I can only wait to hear more from Human Life.

My favorite remix is the Grum remix which is below. Check it out and check out the other remixes as well as they certainly are worth it and the original is still darn good for more poppier feel and sound. If you can also get your hands on Italo Crimewave you should!

  9. New Years Dub by Musique Vs U2

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Ten years ago there was so much really excellent electronic music being released. So much creativity was around which included tons of releases like this track by Musique called New Years Dub which is basically a sampling New Years Day by U2. Apparently the band U2 was so into this cut by Musique that they approved this themselves and it turned out such a great dance hit for Musique. This New Years Dub track features a sample of The Edge’s famous guitar work as heard on the popular U2 track New Years Day. In fact this track basically sounds like a pretty darn good remix of New Years Day by U2. The single release also contains remixes by Hybrid and Mauro Picotto those of you are interested in checking those out. If you’re into U2 and also are into remixes, electronic music then this is perfect you will like this track. I do and I’m sure if you’re reading DestroyRockAndRoll.com then you will too.

  10. West End Girls (Club Mix) by James Talk & Ridney

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Ok whatever you say and I don’t really care what you say I am the worlds biggest Pet Shop Boys fan. Since I heard West End Girls in 1985 I was hooked. The guys are very talented at what they do and they have released some of best music in the last almost 30 years. So I love the Pet Shop Boys. I also love any remixes or remakes of their music that I hear.

So I ran across this wonderful house bordering on trance remake of their hit West End Girls by James Talk & Ridney and I love what I hear. These guys are great and they keep collaborating on many different cuts and I’m hooked at what they release. 11. Don’t Turn The Lights On (Aeroplane Remix) by Chromeo

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Chromeo keep pushing the 80s inspired grooves with their single Don’t Turn The Light’s On off of their latest album Business Casual a truly fun 80s style album with touches of disco, funk and synth grooves. It’s a fun album and keeps pushing them forward now with their third great album. Well my favorite remix of Don’t Turn The Lights On is one by Aeroplane where the beats are a little more spacey, nu disco inspired similar to all of Aeroplane’s music. It’s still keeps the pace of the original version as this remix is not the remix to get your club groove on with. It’s got a more dreamy spacey laidback feel to it. I dig this nu disco sound and I’m sure you will too!

  12. Can You Feel The Passion (Palladium Mix) by Blue Pearl

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

What happened to Blue Pearl? Can You Feel The Passion (Palladium Mix) was one of those electronic techno house tracks that I probably overplayed back in the early 90s. It was on a compilation called Rave ‘Til Dawn and just had really nice bass to blast from your car. I was only 21! Electronic and techno house music was booming from all over the place and I was very happy! So much cool music was being released and this was one them. The song is dark, sexy with lots of moaning and groaning and it has that classic early 90s piano house touch thrown in. It was one of those tracks that combined a lot of rock and guitar elements with the electronic and techno beats with the piano house. So it was quite unique!

Can You Feel The Passion and Naked In The Rain were the only two hits released by Blue Pearl and once those came out they vanished and never to be heard from again. Although Naked In The Rain has been rereleased with new remixes several times since then I still think their bigger cooler hit was Can You Feel The Passion! What do you think? Below you will find the US Remix version and the Palladium Mix which was on the Rave ‘Til Dawn compilation.

  13. Happy Together (Wade Nichols aka Todd Terje Edit) by The Turtles

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Happy Together by The Turtles is one of my favorite 60s songs. I think it’s one of those rare songs that still sounds quite original on it’s own. I was looking forward to this reedit of the original Happy Together by Wade Nichols aka Todd Terje. Once I heard it I knew it was pretty much the same in sound but it does have a bouncier beat to it making it a perfect example of an early 70s disco treatment of a 60s song.

  14. Benny Berigan Covers The John Buzon Trio With Caravan

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

This is a really fun electro-swing version of the old John Buzon Trio version of Caravan by Benny Berigan. This is Benny Berigan from now and not the Benny Berigan that died in 1942 who also performed the recording. The original version of Caravan was written by Juan Tizol and sometimes also credited to Irving Mills but he’s only credited for the vocal versions. Countless jazz musicians and later exotica musicians have covered or remade Caravan. It’s been sampled and remixed throughout the years. My favorite version so far is the exotica version by The John Buzon Trio until I discovered the Benny Berigan version on an electro-swing compilation.

There’s also a very nice remixed version of The John Buzon Trio exotica version of Caravan remixed by Eat Static which I think is still excellent since it’s been 10+ years since that remix came out. I’m glad to have discovered this Eat Static Remix. It’s off an excellent compilation that is out of print called Electro Lounge – Electronic Excursions In Hi-Fi Stereo. Loads of great old jazz and exotica recordings that are excellently remixed. Most are still fresh today. Remixes included on this collection are Q-Burns Abstract Message Remixing Yma Sumac, Omni Trio remixing John Barry, Wagon Christ remixing April Stevens, Utah Saints remixing King Curtis and many more. I love it!

The Benny Berigan version is from an ep that’s available called the Caravan Adaptation EP which also has another couple of great electro-swing tracks on it including one called Snake Charmer.

  15. Crystalised (Rory Phillips Remix) by The XX

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

This is a good example of a very bland boring alternative rock song that has been given LIFE by a really cool remix treatment by Rory Phillips! I’m so glad that the band The XX commissioned this remix by Rory Phillips as I really did not like the original.  There’s hardly any music on the original version of this song except for the bland singing. Ok the music does kick in a bit halfway through but then it fizzles out again. Sorry guys it’s needing something and luckily this Rory Phillips remix does wonders to it. The remix has a synthy, bouncy disco beat added to the very flat singing by the two members of The XX which actually compliment together quite well. Up until I heard this remix that I started liking the original version of  Crystalised. I can always say that remixes do what videos did to me when music videos were popular. Remixes turn me on to music that normally I wouldn’t listen to. Now I’m a fan of The XX like everyone else! Check out both original and remixed version below. 16. 40 Thieves Featuring Qzen Covers Hot Chocolate With Don’t Turn It Off

I didn’t realize that this was a cover until I heard this songs several times. This is a very smooth, sexy and slightly upbeat version of Hot Chocolates Don’t Turn It Off sung by a lady, Qzen aka Susan Langan of 40 Thieves. This version is current with today’s nu disco sound and it’s a perfect version for sexy cocktail sipping at the hottest bars or cocktail parties at home with your sexy friends. It’s also perfect for walks and working out. I don’t really know much about 40 thieves but I did hear this off of a Greg Wilson mix CD, Credit To The Edit of disco and nu disco hits all mixed together. Was worth checking out to see what else 40 Thieves had done but not much more except for this awesome single Don’t Turn It Off covering Hot Chocolate.

  17. Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP Sample Renato Carosone With We No Speak Americano

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Taking old recordings and sampling and remixing them is what http://www.DestroyRockAndRoll.com is all about and Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP’s remake/remix and sampling job of the classic Renato Carosone track Tu Vuo Fa L’americano for We No Speak Americano is a fine example of that. Yolanda Be Cool are the Australian act that have sampled this classic Italian easy listening/jazz into a upbeat electro-swing/swing-house hit. It’s fun, playful and very lively. This remake definitely keeps in the tradition of electro swing hits making big waves across the globe except here in the states. What’s going on?

A couple of years ago I heard this awesome compilations called Swing Style and Renato Carosone’s track Tu Vuo Fa L’americano was featured on it including other older swinging jazz cuts as well as the new wave of electro-swing artists like Waldeck, Parov Stelar and more making hit underground dance tracks. 18. DJ Disse & Betina Bager Sample Fred Astaire With Cheek To Cheek

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

The electro-swing movement is alive and kicking in Europe but when is it going to really catch on here in the states? It’s a truly fun movement with loads of great releases! My first experience was buying the excellent G-Swing release back in 2006 when I visited Paris for the first time and it seems since then it’s gotten bigger and bigger with countless releases. For instance there’s been 3 Electro Swing releases and it’s not only the Electro Swing compilations. Here’s the list of Compilations available in this specific style/genre:

    Electro Swing – The Club
    Electro Swing 2
    Electro Swing 3
White Mink (Electro Swing Versus Speakeasy Jazz)
    Electronic Swing Affair
    Art Of Electro Swing
    The Electro Swing Revolution

And this is just a list of the compilations. There’s a whole list of artists that are releasing this style of music and have been for quite sometime now and it’s not only Parov Stelar that’s embraced this subgenre. There’s:
    Caravan Palace - Caravan Palace
Parov Stelar (multiple album releases) but start out with The Paris Swing Box EP!
Lyre Le Temps – Lady Swing
    Kormac – Word Play
Club De Belugas (mulitple album releases) but start out with SWOP!

    And many, many more!!

Well this remake of Fred Astaire’s Cheek To Cheek is one of those excellent remakes which basically samples Fred Astaire into a more upbeat electro-swing version of the original Cheek To Cheek by Fred Astaire. DJ Disse and Betina Bager do a very nice job here adding a quirkyness to it as it’s very bouncy and cartoony at times. You also here the tapping that’s a trademark of the era of this music and Fred Astaire himself. I discovered this version off of Electro Swing 3 but it’s also available as a single the Cheek To Cheek EP. Now we hope we can get more Fred Astaire Remixes album?? This isn’t the first Fred Astaire electro-swing remake either. Club Des Belugas SWOP includes a Puttin’ On The Ritz electro-swing version that’s also worth noting.

Anyone into remixes or jazz remixes especially will truly love this style of music. So enjoy both original version by Fred Astaire and the sampled remake of Cheek To Cheek by DJ Disse & Betina Bager below. If you like to hear more Electro Swing check out these posts on DestroyRockAndRoll.com.

Shanti Dance is one of those dreamy, moody disco flavored dance tracks that you just can’t get enough of! It’s starts out mellow, gets into a modern nu disco beat then turns a different direction then head back to where the beats were. It’s quite an original track that I’ve been listening to for quite some time now. It’s got some slight touches of world beats hence the name Shanti Dance but it’s perfection! The remix by The Glimmers is quite nice too but certainly gets into the acid territory as the name suggests and it certainly is a dub style rather than a full on remix that you would expect. The Glimmers also give it a more funky beat to it certainly their trademark sound and style touches have been added to the remix. But I have to be honest my favorite is the excellent original version from the the album Frankie Splits. That’s the version I keep coming back to over and over again. The rest of Frankie Splits is a smorgasbord of eclectic musical styles mostly favoring the electronic genre but certainly crossing over into hip-hop and rap territory and some pop and alternative. It’s definitely a good album and worth noting. Album released on Compost Records. The remix is off of Mutations 2 Single.

Both highly recommended for original cool electronic and dance music from Germany!

  20. Sunglasses At Night (Alter Ego Remix) by Tiga & Zyntherius

Corey Hart’s Sunglasses At Night is the perfect pop song to be featured in shows like Miami Vice or games like the GTA – Vice City. It’s the perfect synth pop song bordering on cheesyness with a very pastel Miami or LA coolness to it. It’s classic! Well it was perfectly reproduced or remade here by Tiga & Zyntherius. First released in 2002 then remixed and rereleased last year with tons of great new versions or remixes of the Tiga & Zyntherius version of the Corey Hart classic 80s song Sunglasses At Night.

Tiga put himself on the map with the first release of Sunglasses At Night back in 2002. He was part of that electroclash movement and still continues to produce nice electro/dance music that I still listen to and occasionally remixing someone like Cabaret Voltaire or Miike Snow. The second half, Zyntherius is actually Jori Hulkkonen who’s music I also love too. So this combo of the two of them made for a nice collab and release of the Corey Hart classic synth pop track back in 2002. It was so good I suppose it deserved an extra round of remixes 8 years later. The first release included one great remix Naughty’s 42 Da Floor Remix which was nice and of course the original is great.

Last year the remixes were by Alter Ego, DIM, Black Devil Disco Club, Popof and Konrad Black. A great package with pretty nice lengthy remixes of the Tiga & Zyntherius version of Sunglasses At Night. Below is the entire list and worth checking out as there are some really nice remixes from really cool acts. Check them out below!

  21. Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend (Swing Cats Mix) by Marilyn Monroe

Ok this is actually a really, really good remix of the Marilyn Monroe classic song. This remix for Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend by Swing Cats is from the remixed versions of Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend single that was released in 2000 and also this remix was featured on the 2005 Greatest Hits Remixed CD of Marilyn Monroe hits. The Swing Cats have taken the very mellow easy listening original of Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend song and have given it the updated, swing dance remix treatment that I really, really dig. It’s fun, lively and quite update with Marilyn’s very sexy vocals. It’s the perfect upbeat song for a nice party or if you want to surprise your friends throw it into a nice mix and catch them totally off guard and surprise them.

    Enjoy!

  22. Jon Of The Pleased Wimmin Samples The Flirts/Bobby ‘O’ With Passion

Bobby ‘O’ Orlando is one of the greatest dance music producers ever. He’s produced countless musicians which include Pet Shop Boys, The Flirts, Divine and so on. So no wonder his music is sampled often. Sampling often his famous Flirts song Passion the 80s hi-nrg hit for The Flirts post Jukebox song. Passion was an underground dance hit for The Flirts and Bobby Orlando so that is why the bassline has been sampled countless times in many tracks including this Jon Of The Pleased Wimmin song Passion from 1996. Was a nice underground hit as well for Jon Of The Pleased Wimmin getting an official release on Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto label. Passion by Jon Of The Pleased Wimmin samples Passion by The Flirts and Bobby Orlando perfectly with a very hi-nrg sound.

Jon Of The Pleased Wimmin’s sound was part of the nu energy/trance/dance/hi-nrg sound that peaked around 93 and 94in the mid 90s and he had another bigger had on Perfecto called Give Me Strength which was included on Paul Oakenfolds Perfection CD which I absolutely love and still listen to. It was the mix CD Oakenfold released just before the huge mix CD, Tranceport!

Jon Of The Pleased Wimmin was also involved with The Greatest Hits and Remixes compilation of Divine music that was produced by Bobby Orlando which came out in 1996.

  23. Beachball (Chris Lake Remix) by Nalin & Kane

Beachball by Nalin & Kane was such a huge trance hit in the mid to late 90s! Especially when it was remixed and repackaged with DJ Icey remixes in 1999. That track blew up everywhere. It was the kind of euphoric trance track that you can take ex on and dance all night to. It was one of my favorites back then as I overplayed it along with 9PM (Til I Come) by ATB and many many others. Trance was big, so big back then and there were some amazing trance releases that I enjoyed. The days of trance faded away in the early 2000′s though and along with that went this great track Beachball by Nalin & Kane. But wait there are new remixes now! This Chris Lake remix takes me back to those party days of the late 90s and relives those times with an excellent update. This thing is quite good as it moves you along to a nice updated big electro beat. I actually really like the Chris Lake style and sound and was happy to have come across this remix of Beachball by Chris Lake. Check out both the original classic and the new Chris Lake remix below. And check out the rest of the 2010 remixes here.

  24. Jam Hot (Tensnake Remix) by Johnny Dynell

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Jam Hot by Johnny Dynell and New York 88 is most famously known as the sample for the Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim produced Beats International track Dub Be Good To Me. The famous line “tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty you’re listening to the boy from the big bad city, this is Jam Hot, this is Jam Hot” is lifted right off the Jam Hot single by Johnny Dynell and New York 88. I should do a post on that at a later time. Jam Hot originally came out in 1983 almost 30 years old now and it has a very New York, new wave dance sound to it. Later in the early 90s it was rereleased and remixed. But I first heard of this excellent track by  listening to a compilation called Future Disco Vol. 3 – City Heat. This version on Future Disco Vol. 3 was the most recent remix by Tensnake who I absolutely love the sound of. I was like boy this is a darn great remix which actually takes me back to the beginnings of the deep house days. I had to research and find out more about Jam Hot by Johnny Dynell. Well I found a whole history for this excellent track. The remix is off of the Big Breakdown/Jam Hot Remixes package which was released last year. It’s an excellent ep of great new remixes of Jam Hot and Big Breakdown from todays and yesterdays remixers. The remixers include Tensnake of course, Peter Rauhofer, Mark Kamins, 40 Thieves, Illija Rudman and Clouded Vision which makes up for a very worthy collection that you should check out! Go get Big Breakdown/ Jam Hot Remixes now you’ll love it!!

  25. I Like to Move it (Klaas Remix) by Reel 2 Real Featuring The Mad Stuntman

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

I Like To Move It by Reel 2 Real featuring The Mad Stuntman was such a huge hit back 1994 for Strictly Rhythm Records. The remix by Erick Morillo and Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero was the version the clubs played over and over again and was on countless mix CDs that were released around that time. The song was huge and unfortunately it wasn’t really one of my favorite tracks because I did not really like the Mad Stuntman’s repeated hollering of I Like To Move It… it became too much. Well the new remix is basically the same, same Mad Stuntman hollering and with a new electro style big beat! It’s fun if you’re into this song and want to hear a little change to it. In fact there are many remixes of this track released as part of a big remix package. In fact the Nicola Fasano Mix is probably the best of the lot. Certainly worth checking that one out. Same song just a new beat but a good fun beat! The 2010 Remixes also contains remixes by Sidney Samson and Bart B More as well as the original radio edit and the Harry  ‘Choo Choo’ Romero vs Erick Morillo Remix that put this track on the map! Certainly not one of my favorite tracks but worth writing about for all you to check out if you are a fan of this monster club cut!
