  1. Top Ten Best Dance & Electronic Songs June 2011

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

I love doing these great Top Ten Best Dance And Electronic Songs lists so I will continue doing at least one a month going forward. I make sure I select the tracks I’m listening to most each month. This one starts out a bit sleazy with Midfield General doing Disco Sirens then ends a bit poppy with Benny Benassi featuring Gary Go with Cinema. I so love Cinema and there are countless awesome remixes of that song. Many many to choose from but I’m favoring the original for some reason as that’s my taste at the moment. Who knows you might pick the Laidback Luke or Alex Gaudino Remix. Oh there are many others too. The Things by Sharam Jey featuring Tommie Sunshine is another poppier club, house, dance electronic track that I’m enjoying currently. And it has many remixes to choose from as well. The original is excellent but the Junior Sanchez remix rocks too! If you like your beats a bit obnoxious then you will dig Teki Latex. This thing is pretty out there but I dig it. Be sure to check out several different remixes of this cut as well as each one is different than the other.

    1. Disco Sirens (Boy 8 Bit Vocal Remix) by Midfield General
    2. The Things (Junior Sanchez Remix) by Sharam Jey Featuring Tommie Sunshine
    3. Stay The Same (Etienne De Crecy Remix) by The Shoes
    4. Overshoot (DJ Mehdi Remix) by Zombie Nation

  2. HORSE MEAT DISCO III

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Horse Meat Disco 3 picks up where Horse Meat Disco 2 left off last year and I’m digging what I hear so far! Horse Meat Disco 3 is a collection of underground disco cuts that you probably have not heard of before but definitely should as these are the disco cuts that really should be the better known ones. On Horse Meat Disco 3 there are several stand out cuts and edits or remakes/remixes of existing ones. Horse Meat Disco 3 kicks off with French trio Belle Epoque and their hit Miss Broadway with an edit here by Gazeebo. A fun poppy disco cut if you haven’t heard it then it’s certainly worthwhile. Skip ahead to Sweet Dynamite by Claudja Barry edited by Todd Terje! Wow I dig this. I love Claudja Barry’s music and this edit by Todd Terje gives Sweet Dynamite a brand new life! Like Bottin did with Lio’s Sage Oil a couple of years back!

Next up on Horse Meat Disco 3 is Fuzz Against Jazz and their really funky groovy disco number Born Under Puncher (Harvey’s Punch Drunk Mix). It’s a nice beat and I’m totally digging this cut and it’s perfectly fit in order here. What comes up next is a totally funky disco number which is also remixed by Todd Terje – Moon Jocks ‘n’ Prog Rocks by Mungolian Jetset is one awesome cut on here that I had to repeat over and over again. It sounds like it came from the 70s height of disco music but this thing was released last month. I say it’s amazing.

By now I’m really enjoying Horse Meat Disco 3 as I love the idea of mixing music from today that sounds like disco and dance from the 70s with disco music from the 70s and 80s. It’s great so far!

Dimitri From Paris & DJ Rocca Present Erodiscotique’s Downtown is perfectly mixed next into this great mix so far and how can you go wrong with Dimitri From Paris? The guy is a genius and this track, Downtown is quite nice!

I’m In Love by Yam Who? is a remake of the Sha-Lor classic from the late 80s and it’s great here and I’m In Love definitely deserves the remake treatment as it’s a long lost late 80s dance/house classic. Gosh I can still remember hearing this here in San Francisco back in the late 80s!

Billie Ray Martin? Yes it’s nice she’s back. Can you remember her in the mid 90s with her hit Your Loving Arms Around Me? Well she’s got great new stuff and this cut Sweet Suburban Disco is a standout. Let’s please get a hit out of this one!

I think the stand out cut on Horse Meat Disco 3 is You Don’t Know (Horse Meat Disco Remix) by Tambi. This thing is just awesome. I hadn’t heard of Tambi but boy I’m glad I did. You will dig it. Other cuts on Horse Meat Disco 3 include 2 cuts by Sylveseter, Idris Muhammad, The Glimmers (one of my favorite acts as of late) and Two Tons Of Fun.

Overall a great collection of cuts are represented on Horse Meat Disco 3 and perfectly mixed to perfection by the Horse Meat Disco boys. Worth of owning this great compilation. Preview the tracks below.

  3. Simple Things (Work It Out) (Todd Terje Version) by Shit Robot

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Simple Things (Work It Out) is one of the funniest electro/techno tracks that I’ve heard. I especially love the funny vocals with even funnier lyrics and funniest yet squeals here and there almost reminding me of Prince sung by Ian Svenonius. It’s quite the fun track from Shit Robot off of his album From The Cradle To The Rave. Other great cuts off of From The Cradle To The Rave include Take Em Up (one of my favorites), Losing My Patience, Tuff Enuff? which kind of reminds me of Laidbacks’s 80s hit White Horse and I Got A Feeling. All great cuts and all released as excellent 12″ singles with great remixes. Overall the album has a retro feel to it covering some disco sounds, techno and house and it’s a great first album. And I can’t get enough of the name Shit Robot! It’s just fun!! And that’s what the album is all about!

Simple Things (Work It Out) (Todd Terje Version) is more upbeat than the whole From The Cradle To The Rave album. Perfectly remixed in disco flavor by Todd Terje and being the fan of Todd Terje I seek out any remixes he does and Simple Things (Work It Out) (Todd Terje Version) clocks in just under 10 minutes. It’s a good work out and great for working out. Perfect nu disco beats with funny vocals by Ian Svenonius.

  4. Danny Tenaglia Covers Front 242 With Headhunter

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Headhunter is one of my all time favorite Industrial tracks if not one of my all time favorite songs ever and to have heard of a remake by Danny Tenaglia in the late 90s was a pretty good surprise from the legendary house music DJ and producer. Headhunter Front 242′s cover song is off of Danny Tenaglia’s Tourism CD and it ends the disc on a very high note. Although Tourism is mostly house vocal house with dashes of progressive thrown in here and there in Danny Tenaglia’s typical deep dark tribaly style (check out Elements on Tourism) that he’s known for but then Headhunter is a slight bit more industrial as it’s a remake of one of the biggest electro industrial songs around and it works great.

Tourism is chock full of big club hits for Danny Tenaglia. From the opening track Baby, Do You Feel Me? with awesome vocals by Teena Marie, to Elements, Music Is The Answer (Dancin’ & Prancin’ sung by Celeda to Turn Me On, The Better Days being my favorite cut along with Headhunter on Tourism and with excellent vocals by Cevin Fisher and a very deep dark sexy dance beat rocks and still fresh today and Roots (The Sound Of The Drum) all became hits in the club world and landing on the dance charts.

2 years after Tourism was released Headhunter by Front 242 received the well deserved remix treatment and I must say those remixes are some of the best of Headhunter by Front 242. Of the package of remixes Noisex Remix of Headhunter is my favorite as dark and heavy on the bass beats with a sleazyness to it. I also like Resistance D Mix, Space Frog Mix, Aqualite Mix and finally the Doug Laurent Mix. But the package of remixes is a must, must have for any Front 242 or remix fan!

  6. Top 10 Best Munk Songs Ever!!!

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

One of my favorite acts for about 10 years now, Munk has been creating some of the best dance and electronic music around. His music is mostly disco and electro with touches of house and other cool hip subgenres in the dance world all rolled into some of the best music around. I’ve been following his releases since I first head Androgyn back in 2002 then I was hooked. Later discovering and heard first Disco Clown (Midnight Mike Remix) and later Ce Kul (Francisco Remix) and finally I was really hooked and anticipated more and more releases from one of the best electronic and dance producers out there ever! I’m glad that he doesn’t tire and move on but he produces countless excellent releases and most are excellent. Because of this I had to compile a top ten list of my favorite releases from Munk. Mostly also because his new album The Bird and The Beat has come out recently and more and more releases with countless remixes get released and are definitely worth checking out. Munk is it now!

What I like most about Munk is because most of his tracks have the retro disco flavor that I love. It’s totally Nu Disco! He doesn’t shy away from that sound but it’s totally now though so you are not going to get Gloria Gaynor or Village People sound here so it’s what’s hip and cool. His releases have a very Euro sound and that’s another reason that I tend to but it’s not cheesy stuff it’s definitely good underground dance and electronic music. If you have not heard of Munk then it’s time you discovered his sound. Check it out below! You will love the tunes!

  7. RuPaul Covers Depeche Mode With People Are People

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Since Depeche Mode came out with an amazing collection of remixes called Depeche Mode – Remixes 2: 81-11 I just had to share another Depeche Mode cover here and figured this remake of People Are People by RuPaul for the Depeche Mode 80s classic that got me introduced to the band was the one to put up. People are People is one of the rare songs that still sounds good today. Although People Are People is one of their more poppier songs I still love it and always seek out any remixes or remakes of this song. Unfortunately though I have not heard of any official remixes from Depeche Mode themselves and it’s rarely covered too. I hope when Depeche Mode release Remixes 3 they will actually finally remix this song as it deserves it! Yes?

But then again there’s this pretty darn good club/house remake by RuPaul! RuPaul you say? Well I guess she’s been making music since the mid 90s! This came out in 2005 but I somehow missed it when it came out but later discovered it somehow when I was searching for People Are People. The People Are People (Giuseppe D’s Rutroactive Club Mix) by RuPaul even contains samples of the machine sound effects from the original Depeche Mode version of People Are People. So I give RuPaul some credit for doing this. The original Depeche Mode versions of People Are People is still very special place in my heart. I was a very young teen and discovered this greatest new band Depeche Mode that produced this awesome electronic/synth pop dance music and since then I’ve been hooked on to the sounds of Depeche Mode. But I’m always looking for new versions of old songs and this just does it for me. The original version of People Are People is available on People Are People the album from Depeche Mode and also on Some Great Reward as well as their countless Greatest Hits albums. RuPaul’s version is off of People Are People the single with countless remixes of People Are People, on RuPaul Red Hot and RuPaul ReWorked. Check them out when you get a moment and discover new music!

  8. Aufstand by Gesaffelstein

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Aufstand by Gesaffelstein kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the kind of music that you want force feed your everyday average joe that listens to cuntry, rock, pop, music that is overly mass produced shit by the majors.

I just can’t stop listening to this all techno monster of a recording Aufstand by Gesaffelstein. It’s deep, dark, hard, eerie, sleazy and long mix of beats that takes you on a journey through long tunnels at fast speeds. And it goes on for 8 long minutes. It’s the best techno recording I have heard of since, ah the mid 90s? It’s got to be. Aufstand by Gesaffelstein takes me back to the early 90s when techno was just making a big impact on dance music with recordings by Underworld and those types of guys but this sounds just much more fresh and sonically high quality. The early 90s techno recordings had such a lo-fi quality to them but this track Aufstand by Gessaffelstein and the rest of his tracks on the Conspiracy, Pt. 1 – Single are all top notch. If you like Underworlds Second Toughest In The Infants CD with tracks like Rowla or Juanita/Kiteless/To Dream Of Love or even Dark + Long by Underworld then you will love Gesaffestein and then some. With techno music this good I can’t wait until I hear something new from Gesaffelstein!

More Gesaffelstein tracks (and remixes he’s done) that are worthy to check out are also listed below. Check out Errance / Crainte EP by Gesaffelstein & The Hacker. I love The Hacker and think this EP is quite nice too.

    Original Music Releases:

Conspiracy, Pt. 1 – Single by Gesaffelstein
Errance / Crainte EP by Gesaffelstein & The Hacker
    Variations EP by Gesaffelstein
    Modern Walk EP by Gesaffelstein
Zone 1: The Operator – Single by Gesaffelstein

  9. Behind The Wheel by Playgroup Covers Depeche Mode

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Since Depeche Mode came out with an excellent 3CD remix collection of songs remixed called Depeche Mode Remixes 2 Collection 1981 – 2011 I wanted to do several posts in the coming days related to other covers or remixes or tracks that sample Depeche Mode’s excellent catalog of electronic synth pop/rock tracks. Since Depeche Mode is one of favorite bands going back to the early 80s I always look for any remixes, covers or anyone sampling their music.

Playgroup did a pretty nice reinterpretation of Behind The Wheel here almost 10 years ago now during the height of the Electroclash movement along with bands like Miss Kittin & The Hacker, Fischespooner and Ladytron. Behind The Wheel by Playgroup is very similar in sound to the original Depeche Mode version from their Music For The Masses album it just sounds hip and more sonically fresher than from what was on Music For The Masses. Although I love the remixes on Depeche Mode’s Behind The Wheel Maxi Single as there are multiple versions and remixes of both Behind The Wheel and Route 66. The version missing on the Behind The Wheel single is the Behind The Wheel/Route 66 mash-up that I’ve come to love over the years. If you can get your hands on that it’s awesome!

Depeche Mode Remixes 2 Collection 1981 – 2011 also contains a new remix of Behind The Wheel by Vince Clarke the once member of Depeche Mode who left Depeche Mode to start Yaz and Erasure.

Other versions of Depeche Mode’s Behind The Wheel you might like are Behind The Wheel by Maxence Cyrin which completely reinvents Behind The Wheel as a classical piano piece. Worth it highly not only for Behind The Wheel but Maxence Cyrin’s Modern Rhapsodies album also contains classical piano reinterpretations of other well known dance tracks remade in classical piano format. This is not cheesy stuff trust me they are good. Classical Piano versions of Smokebelch by Sabres Of Paradise, Windowlicker by Aphex Twin, Unfinished Sympathy by Massive Attack, Go by MobyL.F.O. by L.F.O and many more dance cuts reinterpreted by Maxence Cyrin.

Or you might dig this industrial version of Behind The Wheel by OB1. It’s not industrial rock in no means it’s reminding me of bands from the late 80s/early 90s bands like Front 242 or Frontline Assembly which I quite dig as Depeche Mode’s music lends itself very well to the industrial sound. So I recommend this single by OB1 for their version of Behind The Wheel.

  10. Rope (Deadmau5 Mix) by Foo Fighters

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

By no means am I a fan of Foo Fighters. Sure I might like (keyword like) a couple of their songs here and there but in no way I go out of my way to buy their music. I don’t! It’s just the same rock or alternative song over and over again. No room for originality and that’s what the mainstream folks listen to. Don’t they get tired of this stuff? But when I found out that Deadmau5 remixed Rope their hit from Wasting Light I was there to check it out and listen to it. Now this remix is awesome. Hundred thousand times better than what they have released in it’s original form off of Wasting Light. Ok folks will hate me for what I’m saying but check out both versions and see for yourself. The Deadmau5 remix of Rope by Foo Fighters lends itself perfectly for the song. They actually should have released this version over the original. I guess the record execs felt it’s a pretty darn cool remix to be included in the deluxe edition of Wasting Light. You think? I’m a big big fan of Deadmau5 and to hear that he’s done this amazing remix of a Foo Fighters song it pretty darn cool in my book. It comes to show you that folks are getting tired of the same old rock song over and over again and they need a little remix variety.

    Good, it’s about damn time!

  11. Everybody Be Somebody by Ruffneck Feat Yavahn Samples Bostich by Yello

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Everybody Be Somebody by Ruffneck featuring Yavahn was such a big hit when it came out  in 1995. I remember hearing it the first time thinking boy they sure did a great job sampling Yello with their 80s new wave dance hit Bostich. Bostich being one of my favorite synth, pop, new wave dance songs and recently had heard a techno remix by Joey Beltram back in 1992 off of FFRR’s Only For The Headstrong compilation, Ruffneck’s take on Bostich was fresh new and very clubby!

Basically if you haven’t heard Everybody Be Somebody it samples the Everybody Be Somebody vocals from Yello’s Bostich track and Yavahn sings the same words over a 4 to the floor house beat. The remixes for Everybody Be Somebody are quite nice too. My Favorite is the Pepermint Jam Remix but the original version still nice it’s a toss up for me between the original and the Peppermint Jam Remix but I also love the Henry Street Mix which adds a bit of a disco flavor, Benji Edit is quite nice, Hani’s Looooong Mix has been given a bit of a tribal treatment and the MAW Remix has a sound of your typical house club tune from the mid 90s. All good though and worth exploring.

    Enjoy!

  12. Depeche Mode – Remixes 2 Collection – 1981 – 2011!

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Depeche Mode are back with another excellent remix collection of their greatest hits remixed for todays ears. This is such an excellent release that any Depeche Mode fan or remix fan needs to go out and get this collection. Depeche Mode Remixes 2 Collection 1981 – 2011. The 3 disc remixes set has one of my all time favorite remixes of any Depeche Mode song ever. That is Higher Love from 1993 from my least favorite Depeche Mode album Songs Of Faith And Devotion. At that time grunge was big so DM decided to go towards a heavy grungy rock sound. Either way Higher Love was remixed by Francois Kevorkian back in 1993 and was included on the In Your Room single. Best thing on there although I do like the In Your Room Jeep Rock Remix which is not on this Depeche Mode Remixes 2 Collection – 1981 – 2011! Glad Higher Love (Adrenaline Mix) is now included on new their Remixes 2 Collection of songs from 1981 – 2011.

Depeche Mode – Remixes 2: 81-11 continues where Remixes 81-04 left off. That collection came out in 2004 and it’s certainly an excellent 3 CD collection of cuts from their career up until 2004. Excellent remixes on 81-04 include Photographic (Rex The Dog Remix), Halo (Goldfrapp Remix), Clean (Colder Version) and Nothing (Headcleaner Rock Mix) but also mentioned In Your Room (The Jeep Rock Mix) and that’s on Depeche Mode Remixes 81-04. Last collection focused on Enjoy The Silence with several remixes and a remix single for Enjoy The Silence and this time around they are focusing on another Violator single, Personal Jesus with a remix single to compliment Depeche Mode – Remixes 2: 81-11 which are all worthy of exploring if you haven’t already. Both of the singles have longer versions of the remixes that are on the remix collections plus bonus cuts and remixes that are not on the remix collections so they are worth owning. Enjoy!

Below is the excellent tracklisting for Depeche Mode – Remixes 2: 81-11.

    Depeche Mode – Remixes 2: 81-11 - Disc 1:
    1. “Dream On” – Bushwacka Tough Guy Mix (2001)
    2. “Suffer Well” – M83 Remix (2006)

    13. “Slowblow” – Darren Price Mix (1993)

    Depeche Mode – Remixes 2: 81-11 - Disc 2:

  13. Let’s Go To Bed (Milk Mix) by The Cure

Been a huge fan of The Cure since the mid 80s when I first heard Close To me from their The Head On The Door album. It was only obvious that they would end up remixing their songs in the future. So when Mixed Up came out in 1990 I was quite excited to check it out. Although Mixed Up was not much of a remix album. It was mostly extended versions of their hits from their recent big Disintegration album so it was obvious that Elektra Records put out this remix album Mixed Up. But there are the few remixes on the album like the two most obvious songs that definitely sound like are The Walk (Everything Mix) and In Between Days (Shiver Mix) but the rest of the cuts on Mixed Up are mostly extended versions. Still worthy to own Mixed Up if you don’t have it as longer versions of Cure songs are better than the shorter versions!!! Luckily there was this single for the main song off of Mixed Up, Never Enough which included the best remix that was not on the album Mixed Up. Let’s Go To Bed (Milk Mix) is the best of them all. Now since then countless remixes of Cure songs have been done but at the time the best remix of a Cure song was on not on the remix album! So it was a bit disappointing. Luckily Elektra Records decided to add that remix to the single to Never Enough. Let’s Go To Bed (Milk Mix) is remixed by Mark Saunders who was one of the big remixers from that era. He’s produced and mixed and remixed some of the best UK artists from that era like Depeche Mode, Erasure, Cathy Dennis, The Farm, Coldcut featuring Lisa Stansfield and Siouxsie & The Banshees.

If you are a fan of The Cure and remixes check out some of these other great remixes of Cure Songs. Blank & Jones remixing A Forest is pretty darn cool! And The Walk (Infusion Mix) is also worth listening to or actually owning. And if you love Robert Smiths vocals and love electronic dance music then certainly you have to know about Junior Jack’s Da Hype which samples Don’t You Want My by Human League. Highly recommended!

    Enjoy!

  14. Too Young To Die (Moullinex Remix) by Data MC VS. Nhan & Taan

I absolutely love this song Too Young To Die by Data MC Vs. Nhan & Taan,  and I can’t stop listening to it. Just a fluke discovery recently by way of Hed Kandi’s Nu Disco: Future Sound Of Disco compilation. One of the best Nu Disco compilations out there ever. It’s full of hit after cool sexy nu disco hit that you wont be able to stop playing. Cool songs and remixes by some of the best new underground electronic artists out there which includes Sebastien Tellier, Marina & The Diamonds, Mercedes, Russ Chimes, Gamble & Burke, Super Red Berry, N.A.S.A. Featuring Kanye West, Lykke Li & Santigold, Treasure Fingers and of course Data MC Vs. Nhan & Taan.

Too Young To Die by Data MC with a little help from Nhan & Taan is off of Data MC’s excellent album Daily Mirror and it’s one of the stand out cuts. The original is quite excellent on it’s own which is a poppy dance house electronic cut with a nice beat and then the Moullinex Remix is a step above the original. The Moullinex remix is what gives the track the more nu disco feel to it. it’s quite nice and I’m sure you’ll enjoy too. Other cool cuts off of Daily Mirror are Intergalactic Romance, Fever and If I Gave You My Digits (with Lexy & K-Paul). Daily Mirror kind of reminds me of early Prince and the early 90s Pet Shop Boys like the album Very. Cool new music that should definitely be discovered by anyone into electronic and dance music. It’s also time to discover more Moullinex. They are off the excellent German label Gomma!

  15. Never Gonna Reach Me (Hot Toddy Remix) by Crazy P

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Crazy P or if you know them as Crazy Penis is an electronic band from the UK which release soulful, house music with a highly concentrated disco flavor. Since I discovered them several years ago with their album 24 Hour Psychedelic Freakout, I immediately fell in love with their laidback, sexy nu disco sound. I just can’t get enough of that sexy sound.

Never Gonna Reach Me is off of Crazy P’s excellent album Stop Space Return with influences of early New York City house music and combed with disco and 80s dance and pop music styles with sultry disco diva vocals added in to make for an album you wont stop listening to. The original Never Gonna Reach Me is this very mellow, downtempo early disco sounding cut that you can hear full on real instruments in the song with a very minimal production style. It could thought of as being released in the late 70s or early 80s It’s perfectly situated as the fourth track on Stop Space Return. The Hot Toddy Remix is my favorite version as it’s given a more smoother deep house disco treatment. It’s an almost 10 minute journey to sexy after hours disco land. I just absolutely love it and I’m sure you will too! Hot Toddy have done great remix job on this track.

If you like Crazy P’s sound you will certainly have to check out Hot Toddy’s releases as well. Late Night Boogie by Hot Toddy is excellent and hey it’s all in the family. Hot Toddy is Chris Todd from Crazy P so figures that he would do the remixing for his own music. Right?

If you like disco flavored electronic and house music then Stop Space Return is your kind of a release. Check it out and check out some of the other Crazy P releases too. Later by Crazy P is also a good album to start out with the sounds and influences of Crazy p! Enjoy!

  16. Everybody Dance (Chic Inspirational Mix) by Evolution

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Deconstruction was the reliable dance music label from the UK to turn to in the very early 90s! I mean come on they released the huge Black Box singles Everybody, Everybody, I Don’t Know Anybody Else, Strike It Up and of course their huge album Dreamland. But it was more than Black Box. There were huge acts that came from this legendary label. M People, K-Klass, Kylie was there for a bit, Robert Miles, Felix with their huge hit Don’t You Want Me, Hyper Go Go with their hit High, The Grid, N-Joi and of course this little known act and cover of a Chic song Evolution doing Everybody Dance.

This song Everybody Dance is a very similar remake of the original disco classic by Chic. It’s a bit more uplifting and soulful and a bit infused with a gospel house feel. It’s nothing original but this came out during the disco revival thing and was a pretty big hit for Evolution. Although later in the late 90s and early 2000s Evolutions sound completely changed to a more progressive house sound. Check out their album Unnatural Selection and their hit Walking On Fire. Completely different sound but it was obvious that they would go that direction and signed to John Digweed’s Bedrock label.

  17. Moby Samples Laura Palmer’s Theme For Go!

     Powered by Max Banner Ads

Yes it has been 20 years ago that I fell in love with that techno sound that always seemed to feature samples from TV shows, films and other sound effects and Moby’s track Go and especially the Woodtick Mix was the track I came back to over and over again to listen to. It was one of the best examples of techno/dane music by an American musician. I was mostly listening to band from Belgium at the time like Lords Of Acid’s, T99′s Anasthacia, Liquid’s Sweet Harmony, DJ’s Take Control by SL2 and of course Prodigy’s Charly! Don’t forget XL Records The First Chapter CD! Check out The Ansaphone by Johnny L! That thing rocks!!!!!!!!! I was listening to that thing over and over! I immediately fell in love with this and I couldn’t wait to hear more from the little known musician named Moby!

I’ve been a fan since then and always anticipate what’s coming up next from Moby. But the best music he ever released were the ones from the earlier years. Especially cuts like Next Is The E, Move, Drop A Beat, Feeling So Real, Everytime You Touch me, Bring Back My Happiness and so on! Oh those were the days of good old techno dance music. Weren’t they? Well we can check out this 20 year old cut Go (especially the RAINFOREST REMIX) which samples the famous Laura Palmer’s Theme by Angelo Badalamenti from David Lynch’s Twin Peaks and relive those days again. They’ll come back!
