One listen to Slave from Magnum 38 and you’ll immediately think Booty Bass shaking piece of music it is. Slave is from a tribute album to Grace Jones along with several other but I found Slave to be the most approachable followed right up with Suffer. I don’t really recognize any of the tracks on the ep except for this track Slave. It’s quite repetitive but in a good way with lots of deep, heavy bass which is meant to be heard in a loud, dark club. Some of the music is sort of on the leftfield with lots of nasty attitude. Those of you Grace Jones fans might not really dig it but hey if you have an open mind you might. Check it out it will grow on you. And you’ll really hear the sounds of Berlin blasting at you as that’s where Magnum 38‘s from! Makes sense including the album artwork!

Check them out below both the original Slave to the Rhythm and Slave by Magnum 38. It’s a perfect track for DestroyRockAndRoll.com! Be sure to catch videos to both Slave To The Rhythm by Grace Jones and Und? by Magnum 38 below as well.

I love Heartbeat in it’s original form by Taana Gardner but this remix from 2001 is pretty darn cool. It’s much more sped up so it’s not as mellow as the original is so it’s more geared for the club floor. Heartbeat was originally released in 1981 off of West End Records and it’s still pretty darn cool. It’s so laidback and chill but very early 1980s disco. Worth it if you disco lovers have never heard of. Heartbeat and Work That Body are the only hits Taana Gardner is known so she had a small career in disco music. Taana Gardner has worked with some very legendary folks from that era including Larry Levan and Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band.

This remix of Heartbeat is part of a disc called Dance For Life West End Records Celebrates the 10th Anniversary of LIFEbeat. It’s def worth owning as there are new remixes of old West End Records classics including an Angel Moraes remix of Work That Body by Taana Gardner. Check it out!

All the colors are changing … Autumn is here! That’s taken from this awesome track by Koop, the electro jazz duo from Sweden. The original Relaxin’ At Club Fusion is nice downtempo moody jazz electronic perfection but this Dorfmeister Vs. Madrid De Los Austrias remix is pretty darn cool. They’ve sped things way up here and changed the name to Relaxin’ At Club F*****n. Not sure why but oh well the music is pretty darn cool! This remix along with many other wonderful remixes comes from their Walz For Koop: Alternative Takes CD which is the perfect compliment for their Waltz For Koop disc. But are highly recommended for anyone into Jazz with the electronic touch. I love it! The entire run list with the remixes below and to preview Relaxin’ At Club Fusion 2 versions just below that. Enjoy! Released on Compost Records.
