There’s the little sample of the track Close (To The Edit) by Art Of Noise in this very loud techno rave masterpiece by The Prodigy. It’s the track that got them signed to Maverick records from the album The Fat Of The Land way back in 1997. Close (To The Edit) by The Art Of Noise is one of those smart synth pop classics from back in 1984 and it’s perfectly used here in Firestarter. Smart!

But there’s also mention that Crush On You by The Jets was originally sampled by The Wee Papa Girls in a track called Get In The Groove and that is the sample that Alan Braxe And Fred Falke have used for this track but who knows. You be the judge.

The now classic Les Rhthmes Digitales album Darkdancer contains many samples and covers on several of the tracks. It’s a great album and I still come back to it and listen to several of the cuts on it. One of the better uses of samples music is this track From: Disco To: Disco which contains the sample of the song with the same name From: Disco To: Disco by Whirlpool Productions. I don’t know much about Whirlpool Productions but I know the original From: Disco To: Disco was released in 1996.

I really love Parov Stelar’s music and his new album is pretty darn awesome. I’ve heard it and it’s a double album as well as a pretty nice Coco ep. So some really cool jazzy electronica dance whch heavily relies on the swing era with a slight touch of the blues. I love most of the tracks on here. Anyone into the whole swing revival thing would really dig these tunes. Or they would be perfect for a swing/jazz era themed party.

Here’s the video for Coco as well as a preview of one of the more fun tracks Catgroove from the ep and album. Well worth it!
